HTML showing up in top catagory view

I am running into an issue when I am posting products to my site. I edit the bulk of my listings in notepad, and then transfer the text to MS Expression to add markup (/strong, styles, etc), and the page views perfectly when the item is selected.
However, when viewing the top of the product category, the markup is displayed, and not the text of the product itself.

Details:
Version 1.3.9b
Not an upgrade, initial install
No addons have been installed
No customization, other than the application of a template
Hosting is GoDaddy, No SSL (YET), and the site is live, but not functional - [i.e.: no ability for sales at this time].

Zencart strips HTML out of the product listing. You can change that if you want (http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=85378).

Your method of creating descriptions is not recommended, and you may have other problems down the road. Pasting copy from a WYSIWYG editor inserts styling tags (which you noted) which may conflict with Zencart's built-in styling.

Generally, WYSIWYG HTML editors like Dreamweaver or Expressions aren't of much use with dynamic software like Zencart.

Much better to create the copy in plain text, wrap it in <div>s and style it in the stylesheet.
