Please help me upgrade

I am upgrading from 1.3.8a to 1.3.9d. I have copied my site into a sub-directory and my database into another database. I am trying to point my configure.php file (the copied one in the sub-directory) to my new database and fix the cache. I am getting this:

1146 Table 'queencha_test.zen_db_cache' doesn't exist
in:
[db_cache table]

What does this mean? Thank you for any help

Why you would copy your Zen Cart database into another database I don't know, but it is definitely not a good idea.

With that said, Zen Cart is now looking for a specific database, along with database username & login, and for specific Table names within that database. You will also need to correct the Session path within Zen Cart. Use either the Fix Cache Key module from the Add-Ons downloads or from within your Admin > Configuration > Sessions - Sessions Directory, edit to use the correct path.

Ok, I got that problem fixed.

How exactly am I using WinMerge? I compared the files from my backup to the 1.3.9d files. The only customizations I made were in a custom template. I am I just copying the custom template folders and files over to 1.3.9d?

When moving / coping a Zen Cart site from one dir. to another or from one Hosting account to another, the majority of problems are usually database related. A Zen Cart database contains and needs to know, certain key information which without, will cause errors such as you were getting.

The database had not copied correctly. I re-copied it, which seemed to solve it. Probably a stupid mistake on my part...

I upgraded to 1.3.9d in a separate directory with a separate database. When I log into the Zen Cart admin area, it still prompts me to upgrade to 1.3.9d. Is this because the main directory is 1.3.8a and only a subdirectory was upgraded? Will this disappear when I replace the directory files with the files from the subdirectory?
