width used for product columns in center boxes

For the products listed in the center boxes such as 'New Products for July', how can I tighten the width used for the product name or put padding between each product such that the names can't run into each other?

In admin I'd like to adjust the center box columns from 3 to 4, but when I do that the product names are too close such that they run into each other with some of the longer names. It seems to adjust the column widths to % according to the number of columns, ie: 25% width for each of 4 columns, leaving no padding between the columns.
