Back to shopping problem

Having a strange problem:
when there are two products in the cart (two line items, not qty 2 of one item) and I click back to shopping, it appears as though I'm getting two categories of my products. I only want to show featured products, not new products. I know that it is displaying new products. I've gone into the admin and set all of the new products categories to 0, but it is still displaying. I only have 4 products total, so I don't actually use other product categories. Any suggestions?

Another error that I'm getting is sometimes when there is only one item in the cart and you click back to shopping, it brings you to a page that is only the site header repeated over and over.

I've tried a couple of products and I don't think it necessarily is connected to the number of products in the shopping cart. With one product the Continue Shopping button returned me to the product info page. With two products I had the issue where the header is repeated over and over. With three products in the shopping cart, the Continue Shopping went back to the last product I added.

I'm not sure off the top of my head what would cause this behavior though ...

it is very puzzling and the hardest part is that the error can not be consistent reproduced.

I was previously having an issue with the flash navigation not working when you go to www.lovecandy.com/cart, but works fine with lovecandy.com/cart.

Lots of strange issues with this cart. It doesn't help that I only know enough code to be dangerous.

One solution i thought of was to hard code the url for the back to shopping button to go to lovecandy.com/cart. That would resolve the issue, but I don't know how to make this happen. PHP book here I come.
