Royal Mail shipping module adds 3KG to each item

Hi.
I'm new to Zen Cart, and I'm having a problem with the Royal Mail shipping module. When I try a test buy, the cart tells me that an item which weighs 0.150kg in the product description weighs 3.150kg, and overprices the shipping costs as a result. It's like it's adding 3kg to the weight of an item, and then calculating the shipping cost.
I don't know php or css, so please go easy on me. I can follow instructions, though!

I think you'll find you need to go to Configuration / Shipping & packaging and change the Package Tare Small to Medium - added percentage:weight from 0:3. Leave it blank.

Thanks a lot Patski. Looks as if it's working nicely now. Now to attempt the Paypal setup. I'm amazed how easy the cart is to set up, apart from the weight thing. Maybe I'm speaking too soon.

Well I've just set Paypal up, bought a collar from my own shop under a made-up name & it went through the Paypal process just like my eBay transactions do. Impressive cart!

What Royal Mail shipping module ....I can not find it in downloads. Like most UK companies I could do with a program for our multi layered postal system.

Evening,

I've released a full updated Royal Mail module which is available in the Download area of this website, it covers most services already including special delivery, with second class being added tonight.

It solves the problem of the 3KG weight, the original royalmail.php module was using a now outmoded way of calculating whether commas, or decimals were being used to display weights. I've also fixed the not being able to put whitespace in the country and weight/ price lists

So the BigRoyal Mail file is the only one that I need to download!!!

Yep, will be working on it again tonight to add minimum and maximum order values, so that for example first class will stop at £32 which is the most the royal mail would pay you back in the event of a loss.

Might take a couple of days though, I think we're up to 14 services just offered by walking into a post office, not including parcelforce.
