Featued and New Listings display on home page

I need help with removing the "new products" and "featured" sections from the left side bar. I am also trying to set up my home page like the template that shows the featured products in the main content area with 2 rows, 3 columns with large thumbnails. Mine is left aligned with 6 rows and 1 column with small thumbs.

I am assuming this can be configured somewhere in the configuration tab but I haven't had much luck finding it.

I figured out how to turn off the side bars but I still need help displaying the home page correctly.

What was the fix that you found for managing the sideboxes for New Products and Featured Products?

You may need Column Developer Pro (can be found in add-ons page) to have columns with your featured products. Thats how I managed to do mine.

To change the thumbnail/image size just go to Admin > Images then either 'Image - Featured Products Width' or 'Image - Featured Products Height'.
