Problem with blank pages

I'm having issues with my test page. I backed up after I had the problem. I was working in another area, and didn't realize that the images weren't showing up on my products page before backing up. So I can't restore to an earlier time, hard lesson learned. always test each page before you back up.

Here's my problem - The area that I'm having issues shows up in my SHIRTS category. I made the Shirts category, then I made a sub-category called WORK SHIRTS - then in that Work Shirts sub-category I entered 8 different products. I saved everything in the MAIN DIRECTORY.

When I click on Shirts/Work Shirts, the only thing that shows up is the ALPHA SORTER DROPDOWN. If I go into my Product Listing and disable the Alpha Sorter Dropdown, then refresh my page, it's blank.

HOWEVER, I have a sub-category in the SHIRTS folder called CASUAL SHIRTS. It only has 1 shirt in it - when I click on it, the shirt shows up. So I tried adding a NEW PRODUCT to the Casual Shirts - clicked on it, and once again I got the Alpha Sorter. I disabled Alpha Sorter and that entire category is blank, even though it shows in the left sidebar that there are products in it. I deleted that 2nd item in the CASUAL SHIRTS, so if you click on it, you will see product.

So then I read about possible problems. I went into my cache, and checked my Debugger - I had several error messages that showed up, all to do with my Ajax and Tabbed Pro modules which I'm not using. So I backed those files out of my server. Then I cleared my cache, leaving only the .htaccess and the index.php files in it. I went through my site, clicking on pages, refreshed my FileZille, no debugging messages are showing up.

So then I did it manually, I made a local folder in the includes folder, and uploaded a configure.php file that I made as per zen intructions. When I accessed my site, I got that yellow triangle at the top, showing that what I did was active, but I didn't see any error messages by clicking on any of the pages.

I've gone through all of my settings in PRODUCT LISTING, PRODUCT INFORMATION, LAYOUT SETTINGS, I can't find anything that would be set to make these images not show.

I went to web developer, I show several warnings and errors when I click on the ERROR CONSOLE - but I don't see anything that I think would make this area not work.

Once again, I'm totally baffled. Surely I won't have to rebuild my entire cart, I'm hoping there is something I can do to find and correct this problem. I hope I've been explicit enough with the information I'm giving you.

you have no products or products enabled in this sub catagory

products that exist in catagories or sub catagories have the number of items at the end

your is showing that your products are in the root of the catagoried only

if you have moved or copied product from one cat to another the make sure the have the green status showing on the product in the admin

Rob thanks for helping me. I am making some progress here.

I have numbers in parenthesis at the end of the name of the sub-folders in the left sidebar in folders that contain product.

I was able to go into my INDEX LISTING and put the settings back to default and get my sub-categories information to show up.

Now the issue seems to be with NEW PRODUCT FOR JULY - SHIRTS. When I set all of the New Product values to 0 I can see my products UNTIL I turn off The SHOW NEW PRODUCTS BELOW PRODUCT LISTING - when I set that to 0 all of my image and descriptions disappear.

Would you mind looking at how my values are set, and tell me what I'm doing wrong? I don't want that NEW PRODUCT FOR JULY - SHIRTS to show up.

Thanks for all the help. I've spent days sitting here in front of the computer trying to figure this out.

I used Web Developer Info Display/ID & Class Details and this is what it shows underneath the Work Shirts and before the New Products bar - is this showing my problem? I'm not smart enough to understand it.

If in v1.3.9, when you look in the /cache ... what do the debug files say?

If not in v1.3.9, get the Debug Tool from the Free Software Add Ons ...

The debug file is saying nothing at all. It's clean - I'm going to try reloading my original css and .php files this morning, and see if that helps.

My son worked on this last night for me, he's never built a cart, but he's good with coding and anything techkie on the computer, he had no luck getting rid of that New Products banner either. He too went through all of my settings, we just can't figure out why when you're in the INDEX LISTING and set the SHOW NEW PRODUCTS UNDER PRODUCT LISTING to 0, the page disappears. You put it to 1, and it comes back but with that New Products for July banner above it.

I'll update you on my progress or ask for help if I can't get it. Thanks for helping me...
