if you plan on upgrading till last then

    1) backup your test server (full backup)
    2) log into server and using phpmyadmin backup your test site database
    3) upload all your test site files to new server including zc_install
    4) create new database on new server
    6) install zencart cart and use new database settings
    7) view new site to make sure it works
    6) log into your new servers control panel and click on phpmyadmin
*** make sure you are logging into new server for the following ***
    7) wipe the contents of the database on new server (drop tables)
    8) click on import and select the database you downloaded from 2
    9) log into the admin area and change to template you are using (using username and password used on the test server)

new server should now be the same as old server

you just need to follow steps to upgrade your files to 1.3.9d

    Hi RobWUK

    I've read you reply

I dont have a server i have a hsoting package with 1and1 which allow for a couple of databases.

Thanks for this but can i ask, you said:

    3) upload all your test site files to new server including zc_install

The zc_install is that from the newest version that goes into my version, then uploaded onto the new server?

I am sorry for these questions i am confused, but will get there.

just replace the word server with hosting

yes, place the zc_install folder from the latest version, providing that your test site was using the same version

upload these to your new host and install as you would do normally creating a new database with your new host, step 4 onwards, i know my steps where not in order, it was late :)
