Hey all.
I am currently running ver 1.3.9d, with ZipShip installed for local delivery options. Long story short is that I am selling chocolate in the summer, and using USPS. What I would like to do is exclusively offer Express Mail (1-2 day nationwide) for states outside of New England, which is where I am shipping from. For the states in New England, I want both Priority and Express to be an option, and for those that are in my county, to have a local delivery option.
Working backwards a bit, I have ZipShip installed for the local delivery, with a notice that I can't "locally deliver" anything to someone ordering a few hundred miles away. I would like to disable this message if anyone knows how, but that's a bit off topic.
Basically, I was thinking that I could duplicate the USPS module, and have one set up for Express Mail only, to states in a self created zone that excludes New England states. The duplicate module would then offer both express and priority to those within the New England zone, including those in my county if they do not wish to have local delivery from yours truly.
Am I on the right track here? Is it even possible to duplicate the USPS mod without running into any back-end issues in the ordering process? If it's not, I'm hoping someone might have a suggestion as to what to do; I've been through every mod I can think of, and yes I know Conor sells Advanced Shipper, but as much as I would love to donate to all the work Conor and others have put in to that - I'm poor
I have thought about the multiple zone shipping mod, but I would really like to have an accurate shipping estimate from the postal service, which is where the thought of duplicating the built in mod came from.
My coding knowledge is beginner at best, but I can follow the logic to a point.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if it's to tell me I'm SOL. It would definitely save me some time if that's the case (although I hope it isn't).
Many thanks in advance!
