Any one able to help me with EasyPopulate?

Hi,

Not sure if I should be here but can not find any where to ask this question.

I have Zen 1.3.9d, I have installed easy populate CSV 1.2.5.7b can not seem to find support. My problem is that no matter what I seem to do to my CSV file I have re edited god knows how many times, in Open Office and in Exel, but every time I ask EP to load it, it looks like it is then I just keep getting a long line under upload saying ( No Model Found ) or very simular, I know the model numbers only have 4 figures but**** I have them in the correct column under
v_products_model but surly it can not be me all the time.

Some please o please Help.

Ep 1.2.5.7 is problematic.

Remove it and go with 1.2.5.4

Thanks, how do I remove it, just go backwards and remove the files like I placed them in.

Yes. Just look in the original module for the file locations and names. Find the corresponding files on the server and remove them.

(The database patch I believe is the same for EP 1.2.5.4 as it is for 1.2.5.7, so you should not have to remove any database stuff.)

Or any one that can help, done exactly what you said schoolboy removed all file from 1.2.5.7b, checked about 4 times but the config page never seemed to go, so just left it loaded the suggested 1.2.5.4. checked twice to make sure, and it seemed O.K. It went in with the old config page O.K. and was showing1.2.5.4 when opened in tools, shoewed more boxes
There was the brouws box, a splitfile box, and an upload file box.

I used the brouws box to upload my file to the Temp folder got the all O.K. from EP, then loaded, the file from the upoad file box, I got the clear message under upload, upload O.K. and the name of the file that had been loaded. But nothing showed in my cart, I done this twice with the same results, Each time EP gave me no errors just the O.K. completed messages.

Am I missing something Here is there something I have to do after this, by the way EP also makes a goodloaded file of the products that I loaded into the cart by hand.

Have you any ideas.

LOADING the file into the temp folder is step one.

You then have to RUN it?

Did you RUN the file through EP?

The point of loading it into the temp folder is so that it can be run directly on the SERVER, and not over what can be a jittery internet connection.

Loading it into the temp folder just gets it into a position to be run through EP more reliably and safely.

Once it is in the temp folder, you then type in the name of the file in the field, and run it.

Did you do this step?

Also... (and I am not familiar with 1.2.5.7)... I seem to recall that the writers of 1.2.5.7 reconfigured it to have the TEMP folder called temp_ep (or something).

If you did RUN the file - and nothing happened - it could be that the folder is incorrectly named.

I did as you said avove loaded the file to the temp folder, and then run it as you discribed.

I did have the problem of the config page as I said in my last post to you. As you say the temp folder for 1.2.5.7 is tempEP, this was still showing in the config page of EP so I renamed my temp, folder to tempEP, on the box where you type the file to load this showes as tempEP, also when you tell EP to make a full CSV file this is the folder that it writes to, as I said I get no errors from EP at all it tells me all is O.K: and it has imported the said file, I have 26 products under my main Cat: which I loaded by hand while havining Problems with the other EP. So I removed them from my CSV file and just left about antor 50 on the CSV file. But all I have in my cart is the 26 products I loaded by hand. I have noticed that the date when loading by hand is I think YY/MM/DD
where as in my config of EP I have set this to DD/MM/YY and in my CSV file this is the date I have used so they are different, also the date in the CSV file are about 2 days earler that the ones loaded by hand, I have read your book on the subject and seem to have done thing correct, even to the images, when loading by hand they go to the master file which I take to be IMAGES, on my CSV file like you say in the book I have uploaded a image folder to images whichis there, and on the CSV file I have put MYFOLDER/image.jpg if I am reading correctly.

Better not write any more as I will be confusing myself as well as you.

No Worries now, just removed from cart and reinstalled it all again used the download file and updated worked perfect, thanks for the help received from all.
