customer uploads - where are they?

I am using v1.3.9b and have set up a sale item which allows for an upload from the customer for the custom art. The customer uploaded an image in jpg format, but I am not able to find it anywhere on the server, nor was it emailed as part of the order.

Where did the image the customer uploaded go?

Files uploaded by the customer go to the:
/images/uploads

directory and are renamed with a number.extention that is referenced in the Order ...

NOTE: while the numbers may at first appear to match the orders_id, there is no relationship to the orders_id and eventually will not match ...

Thank you! I found the upload and would not have known how it related without your help.

Is there any way to have these sent with the email that contains the order details? My client does not have much experience with computers and would be very confused if I tried to teach her how to find these images by herself.

You would have to customize the code for something like that ...
