state specific products and dealer pricing

Hello, I have a couple product questions I hope someone out there can help with.

I have been asked to re-do a zencart installation that sells printed forms. They want the customers to choose which state they are from and then present the products that are legal for that state; there may be some overlap. So I am imagining a dropdown menu of the states on the home page, but I don't know how to set up the products so that they are organized that way.

My second predicament with this project is that they want special pricing for dealers and would like dealers to be able to sign in and be the only ones to see those prices.

I would be so grateful for any help on this.

Assuming you aren't using the 'manufacturers' field, you could rename that to 'State' and associate the products with the manufacturer/state. That would give you a dropdown sidebox with the states listed.

I think I will be redoing the entire product structure so I can use that field as I choose. The problem is that it may actually be useful as a manufacturer filter. For example: the customer first choses the state they are in, then they choose the model type, then they choose from a list. Is this possible?
