offline testing of new template

Hi

I've used a template on a store I have and now want to use it on an existing store.

How can I install this template and modify it without disruption to the current store? I imagine it's going to take me a few hours to get it right but want the store to continue to run in the background.

Set up a beta site?

You should never work on your actual store.. always work off a copy.. that way if you mess something up it's not production.
