Importing Database

Hello everyone! We have installed the most recent version of Zencart to a new directory and successfully imported our current database. What do we need to do to be able to see the contents of our database in the Zencart admin panel? Do we then import the products? What else do we need to transfer from the old location? Please help.

What do we need to do to be able to see the contents of our database in the Zencart admin panel? Do we then import the products? What else do we need to transfer from the old location? Please help.

If you've already imported the database, everything should be visible in your admin panel.

Typically, you'd upgrade by setting up a new Zen Cart file set and database, which you've already done. Then you'd copy your production database to the new installation and then run the install a second time. This will bring up an option to upgrade the database.

Once that is complete, then you'd apply your customizations to the new Zen Cart setup, and when all is well, replace the files and database on your old production site with the new source files and upgraded database.
