I cant think of a better way of asking,is their any guide to its capabilities in terms of orders/transactions a day or something like that?

The Zen Cart software itself imposes no limits.
You are only limited by the speed of your servers and the bandwidth allowed to you in your hosting account. And maybe the number of monthly transactions you've contracted for with your payment gateway provider..
