Split Credit card Payments

Hi All,

I wanted to know if zen-cart supports credit card split payments. I have searched on this topic but couldn't find any relevant answer.

For eg: Our company products are in the range of hundreds and thousands of dollars and some of our customers would like to split the the transaction to two(2) credit cards. We are using Net1 payment services as our payment module.

Is there a way of having this kind of payment in zen-cart?? where customers can enter 2 credit card numbers to buy a product.

It is unlikely that you will find this in ANY shopping cart software... largely because it is a PAYMANT GATEWAY issue, and has little (if anything) to do with the cart software.

I don't know of a module to do that, and would be surprised if one existed, since Zen Cart's data structure only currently supports one payment method at the order level (gift certs and coupons excepted, they reduce the total rather than acting as payment methods).

This structure is mirrored in other areas too, such as handling confirmations coming back from payment gateways. Dealing with one is scary enough, the thought of having two or more coming in at once for the same order would be the stuff of nightmares.

Split-tender transactions are not supported in v1.x. The posts above explain some of the technical reasons which prevent it from being practical.

Is there a way of having this kind of payment in zen-cart??

Certainly not in the old version you're using.


The feature is being considered for v2.x.x though.
