(7) socket error: 111 -- GoDaddy hosting

GoDaddy is messing with their server network again.

You need to go to:
Admin->Configuration->My Store->CURL Proxy Status ... change to False.

Whenever a customer tries to place an order the shop cannot finalize their order and kicks them out from the process. Whenever this happens I get an alert (rather a few alerts) sent to my email with this message:

- (7) socket error: 111

What's the problem?

Are you using GoDaddy as a host ?

Could someone assist as a clients shop has started to get this error?

It is not with Go Daddy, and the curl proxy is already set to false.

Working fine for months then 2 days ago started.

Then you need to log a ticket with your hosting company to fix the CURL problem or resolv.cnf problem they have on their server.
