    Default Dependent Options

I will try to explain this in the most simple way I can make it.

OK, let's say I have a widget. The widget comes in 8 sizes which will be in a grid below a dropdown. The first option would be a dropdown to select how many wheels each widget will have.

A grid of the four sizes would be shown under the dropdown and each size will have a box to enter the quantity of each to order. Now, depending on the first dropdown selection, the prices of each of those sizes in the grid will change accordingly.

Does this make any sense at all? I have seen it done on another site selling windows. If anyone can make sense of what I am looking for and has any ideas I would greatly appreciate advise.

    Thanks!

Makes sense, but dependent options/attributes are not currently available in Zen Cart.

Thanks Clyde. I figured that but had to ask anyway. I would be interested in finding someone to do some custom work. Any advise as where to go for this?

    Thanks again

I think I may have found this as a possibility in a 3rd party extension for Magento. My site is already setup for Magento but I still like ZC much better and I am looking for any reason to go with ZC. http://www.magentocommerce.com/magen...duct-grid-view

You could always post something in the "commercial help wanted" section of the forum.

I think I seen such module for Zen Cart in the Free Download section. I just spent 15 minutes searching for it but can't find it. If you have the time to go through all the modules you might find it.

Are you sure about that? A grid result that depends on what you select from the dropdown above it? I will give it a go!

    Thanks

There is no "second options" depending on "first options" mod or availability in Zen Cart.

HOWEVER, if all that changes is the price of the option, you might be able to do this with just the attributes controller. Setting the products to priced by attribute, you could have a selection for widgets and wheels.

This would only work if all wheel sizes are available on all 8 widget sizes.

Each widget would be priced where its attribute is defined and the same for the wheels. Wheels could be positive or negative values.

Not unlike what you see at "Swell" Computers where one hard drive is included, another is smaller and cheaper, and another bigger and more expensive.
    A little help with colors.

dbltoe - I am trying to make sense of you advice. Could you give me a little more insight as to what you are referring to? You mean setup multiple products that each have a widget and whells attribute?

    I apologize for the misunderstanding.

    Thanks!
