Banners won't turn off

Hi,

I am trying to turn off the banners on my cart but seem unable to do so.

I go into tools>banner manager

I select a banner and click on edit

I select the "not active" bullet hole

click update

But the banner stays active, green light on the admin panel and if I click on edit again for that banner the "active" bullet hole is still selected !!

Am I missing something, why can't I turn these stupid banners off ?

admin/configuration/layout settings

near the bottom of the page you'll see the different banners listed; edit them so the settings are blank

Aha, excellent, thanks very much, that did it.

Still don't know why the other method isn't working but that doesn't matter now.

If they had dates on them, the dates would have overruled your click of the green icon to turn them off ...
