    Default Gift Certificate/Discount codes not working

    Hi there,
    I have two issues... I have sent a gift certificate to a customer twice now... the first time, she got it, tried to appy it and it wouldn't work... when I went into admin, I saw that she still had her g.c. under her customer profile, however, under the g.c. area, it says redeemed. There is no order for her either.
    So, I sent her another one thinking that the first got hung up somehow, but she says it's not working either.

    In the meantime, I had a teammember try to use their discount code and she says it doesn't work either.

    You are interchanging the words Gift Certificate and Discount Coupon ...

    Did you send the customer a Gift Certificate or did you send a Discount Coupon?

    Did you try to redeem the code in the email in the Gift Certificate redemption box or in the Discount Coupon redemption box?

    If you look, via phpMyAdmin, at the coupons table, is it still active?

    Okay, I have problems with BOTH Discount Codes AND Gift Certificates.

    I have sent my customer 2 Gift Certificates and both times, she was unable to use them. In my admin G.C. area, it says they're both redeemed, yet in the customer area it now says she has $15 worth available.

    I just sent myself a Gift Certificate to make sure she wasn't just entering the code in the wrong box and it didn't work for me either... it says invalid gift certificate redemption code.

    I just went to check to see if the discount code works since my teammate may have been using an old one and it worked AND then my gift certificate was used in part (I forgot to take out the amount in the g.c. field)! Weird... however, still not working right. It would seem that the gift certificate can't be used in whole then, or without an additional code????

    Any thoughts now?

    Hey, I figured it out!!! It's simple really... duh!

    Once she redeemed her G.C., she was trying to put the code into the box at checkout. I did this too, until I realized that in my cart box to the right it said I had an available balance. Once I just entered the amount without the code, it worked perfectly! That's probably all in the how to's too.... *sigh*

    DUH....

    Thanks for the update that once the Gift Certificate was redeemed that the amount to Apply to the Order had to be entered ...
