    Default remove previous instal

    Hello,

I must have tried to install Zen Cart. I cannot now remove it as it reads:
The installation can not be completed:

    - You chose to install in the main directory of the domain all-e-services.com, but there are conflicting filenames, therefore we can not proceed. Following filenames already exist in the main directory of the domain xxxxxxx (path="/home/name/public_html/").You must manually remove these files before proceeding with auto-installation:"

What are these files and directories?

When I try to make a new instal i get: "Current installations:
    None "

    Please help!

    Thank you.

None of those messages is presented from Zen Cart.
Sounds like you're using a one-click install option provided by your hosting company. You'll need to contact your hosting company for specific assistance, since the problem is with their automated install tools, and not with Zen Cart itself.

It may be you have a different program installed (like a blog, etc.) in the root of your site which uses index.php as does Zencart.

Use your FTP program to look at the files in the public_html directory and remove them to install Zencart.

SO, I'd better install in a sud-directory then.

Where you install it is up to you.
But the one-click installer provided by your hosting company has gotten confused ... and you either need to remove the files that it told you to remove, or contact your hosting company for specific help in fixing the problems caused by the tools they provided to you.

That is the reason I write to the forum members. The message does not specify which files to remove. In this case I suppose there is only one and that is index, html. Am I right?
    Thank you!

Well, without seeing a list of the files that exist, I can't tell you what it's referring to. Most likely it's talking about a folder named something to do with "zencart", or whatever *you* chose to call it when you requested the install.

But I think your problem is more to do with problems related to broken cPanel/fantastico files, and AGAIN that's got NOTHING to do with Zen Cart. I suspect you need to delete certain specific files that fantastico has installed on your server. And ... AS I ALREADY SAID, your hosting company is the first place you should be asking about that. They'll be able to look and solve the problem in seconds, instead of taking days to convince you that the problem has nothing at all to do with Zen Cart.

If you'd asked your hosting company in the first place, we wouldn't still be having this discussion here days later.
