item prices addes to qty price when add to cart

Using zencart 1.3.8a
No Addons Im aware of.

This site was created roughly 3 years ago, and has not really been touched since then, so details are kinda shaky on specifics of how it was put together. So here goes.

We have prices in attributes that pertain to quantity pricing. For instance, we have
product A that costs 2.98ea - Minimum purchase of 25 = 74.50
product A that costs 2.00ea - Minimum purchase of 50 = 100.00
product A that costs 1.50ea - Minimum purchase of 100 = 150.00
product A that costs 1.20ea - Minimum purchase of 250 = 300.00

We have the unit price displayed simply to show them how much each unit costs for competitive reasons.
When i go to add an item to cart, the total should be total for qty selected. So if I choose 25 qty, my cart total should be 74.50.
However, The total adds the initial unit price back into the qty purchase. So total for qty 25 in cart is now 77.48

This is incorrect. I need to have it not add unit price back into total.

Ive searched through and through and cannot find anything remotely close to the problem Im having with unit price being added back into quantity total. Any suggestions or a point in direction would be much appreciated.

You have the item price set to (in the example you gave) 2.98, then you've added an attribute that consists of 25 items with an attribute price of 74.50, so Zencart is working properly when it adds one to the other.

If you want to price an item by attributes, you need to set that in the product set up page and set the product price to 0.00.

You can let the customer know what the unit price is (though it's really irrelevant if they can't buy just one) by including that info in the description.

Thanks Stevesh. This worked well, however we were hoping to still show the unit price under the far right price column when viewing a category. Now it just says more info.

This will work, as you stated we can always put unit price in description or even heading, but it would just look nicer having unit price in far right column if that was at all possible.

If you can think of a way to achieve this, please let me know.
