Backorders

Ok if Im out of stock on something I would like it to show out of stock and also be able to backorder the item. As of now all my products look in stock and the cust does not find out it's out of stock untill it's put in the cart can anyone help me with this ?

Hey there,

I´m looking for the same thing.

I´m going to try to make a easy workaround.

In the admin/config/stock you can choose to not display the sold out button even when product is out of stock and show the add to cart button instead.
Now what I´ll try to do is alter the php so that it detects when product quantity is 0 and instead of displaying "0 units in stock" it will display something like "this product is out of stock, delivery will take a week plus shipping time"


If anyone has a better idea. let us know

How has that solution worked for you? I'm having the same issue, but like others who have posted similar requests, I want some items back-orderable, and others not . . . anyone?
