Changing Shipping to Multiple Restaurant Delivery

I've researched and searched the forum, both by keyword and by reading the posts, but I haven't found anything to help my needs.

I'm using zencart for a restaurant delivery service. I've tried to configure shipping as delivery charges, however they just don't quite do what I need them to do or have figured out how to make them work.

Here are the issues:

Purchase from a single restaurant = $5.00 No sweat on that one, just add a flat $5.00 shipping charge.

The real problem comes in, when there is an order from multiple restaurants and additional delivery charges are included.

Multiple restaurant delivery charges are this:

The standard fee listed above for a single restaurant delivery ($5.00.)

Each additional restaurant delivery on the same order adds another $2.50 per restaurant delivery.

Multi-restaurant delivery charge on the same order example:

1st restaurant delivery fee is $5.00
2nd restaurant delivery fee is an additional $2.50
3rd restaurant delivery is an additional $2.50
and so on from there.

Additionally, I need to figure out how to "Extend" or add a higher delivery rate for out of my delivery zone (which is a 5 mile radius) of my location.

Standard delivery up to $7.00 and each addition restaurant on the same order up to $3.00.

I've went as far as to add a category which I keep turned off and set up a product to add the additions fees and only turn them on to create an admin order for the delivery fees, but that only works for me, not customers doing the ordering online. Since all of this takes in local factors, not countries or states, I'm lost as to how to do this.

Also I need to set up a Special Request Delivery (higher rate) as well, such as going to a restaurant in another area for specialty foods such as lobster and the upscale higher ticket items.

Hoe do you present the "products" from different restaurants in your online shop? Maybe you should think about this at a conceptual level and how this can be presented to customers so that they know what the charge is. I guess you can add the extra delivery fee for products from different catagories. In other words, the number of different catagories determines your delivery charges (fee = 5 + (#cat -1) *2.5)

Dont think there is an implementation for this problem so far.

The site is setup as any other store would be for products of all types.

Top Level categories = Restuarant name. Subcategories under each restaurant name holds the menu categories and products in those categories are listed under those. You can see and example of what I have set up so far on the site at this url: www.angletonexpress.com

I still have tons of work to do to the site before it is ready to go and currently have it set to be a showcase until I figure out how to modify it to work as I want it too.

If you were to use the manufacturers_id to identify which restaurant the Product is from, you could customize a shipping module to calculate the charges for each restaurant ...

There is nothing built into Zen Cart for this, but it could be written as a Custom Shipping module so that whether the customer orders from 1 or more restaurants the correct shipping could be calculated based on the number of items from each Restaurant using the manufacturers_id ...

For now, I have just set up the Table Rate to reflect:
25:27.5%,50:25%,100:22.5%,250:15%,10000:10%
plus a low order fee of $3.50 for orders under $20.00. I can live with these for now, but I'll give your suggestion a try as well.

Now, can I restrict delivery to one or two specific zip codes? If yes, can you (or anyone) please point me in the right direction as to how to do this?
