Problems with custom stylesheet & header - 1.3.9e - are the tutorials still relevant?

Hello!

I just installed 1.3.9e today, and it seems to be good! But, I am having problems customising my CUSTOM stylesheet.css, header, etc etc.

I am just wondering if the Tutorials / FAQ are still correct for the new 1.3.9e or if they are now outdated?

For example I followed these instructions to center my logo:

This worked fine on my old 1.3.8, but on the new 1.3.9e the log is still left aligned:

Likewise my old site has links in the header - again I followed these instructions to add links to the new site:

and they don't appear.

Just wondering if this is a 1.3.9e thing?
