No International Shipping Allowed?

How do I setup ZenCart so it will not allow international shipping at all?

Create a Zone for where you will ship and add it to all shipping modules ...

Not in the Zone ... you cannot checkout ...

I want to be able to ship just to the Continenal USA only. How do you set up a shipping zone for the 48 states?

Make a Zone and Call it something like: US 48

Add 48 States to it ...

Add to Shipping Module(s) ...

Bing bang boom! All done!

I think where I get confused with Zones is when you say

Make a Zone and Call it something like: US 48

Add 48 States to it ...

I can make a zone and add one country... I do not have anyplace to add 48 states.

Also, I want to limit the country dropdown to just this zone. I want to be able to ship to just the 48 states.

There has been discussion regarding this but never a clear cut answer.

To make a Zone of United States with just the 48 states ...

Go to Locations / Taxes ... Zones Definitions ...

Click Insert ...

Zone Name: US 48 States
Description: US 48 States plus DC

Click Insert ...


Build the 48 States plus DC
Click Details ...

Click Insert ...

Country: United States
Zone: Alabama

Click Insert ...

(Repeat for all the States until Done, don't forget District of Columbia)

One more quick question...I only want the usa to show up in the customer address dropdown. I do not want all the countries to show up. Is there anyway to limit this dropdown to just the US without just deleting all the unwanted countries in the the database.

I have the default country set in the customer detail screen but I still see all the countries when I create a customer account.

You would either need to remove the other countries or customize the SELECT statements on where the countries table is used ...

Hello,

how would you customize the SELECT statements? I am in Canada and would only like to offer shipping within Canada for now, but I would like anyone in the world to place an order to be shipped within Canada.
Therefore, I know I just can't remove all the countries under LOCATIONS/TAXES. I also don't want someone be able to select an international shipping country from the dropdown menu only be be told on the next page that "we do not ship to this region". (I have already restricted the shipping zones)
