Default FCKeditor - can't upload image

I spend most of yesterday trying to find a solution to my problem but nothing seems to be working so I wonder if anyone can help.

I have installed FCK editor on my zen cart store (v1.3.9e) but when I try to add an image it keeps saying...

The server didn't send back a proper xml response, please contact your system administrator

    xml request error (403)

Does anyone know a fix as couldn't find a solution on the other posts. Alternatively a newer/better version of product description html editor (WYSIWYG)

This is to do with the settings in one of your .htaccess files. There are posts about it somewhere in this forum.

But better would be to switch to CKEditor which is the successor to FCKEditor and is both faster and produces better html.

Thanks for that, yes I found the thread about the .htaccess file but tried what they suggested and it didn't work, unless I messed it up.

Anyway took your advice and installed the CKeditor and it's working fine, apart from that it doesn't let you upload images which is a pain, however not the end of the world to add them via cpanel and just type the image path so will do that.

    Thanks for your help.

Faster and simpler to add them by FTP instead of cPanel.

LOL ... Well, there's the problem. Dreamweaver isn't a proper FTP program. While it has some handy FTP support, that's not its purpose. With an FTP app, it's a simple drag-and-drop once you set up a bookmark. Way faster than cPanel, and way simpler than DW. DW is for writing HTML, not for managing a PHP-driven website.
