"I have a quick question too... Is this what we need installed and running by June 1st? Fedex is doing a major update for their API, will this integration replace the current mods I am using for Fedex labels and rate generation? This is a major deal, I'm very surprised there are no threads in the forum regarding this!"

This has to do with populating your fedex shipping label directly from your database. I don't think it has to do with Fedex Webservices (what they are requiring to get the rates and that has the deadline). This only grabs customer shipping info from an order that has been placed and puts it into the label maker in fedex ship manager directly.

According the Numinix (the creator of Fedex Automated labels mod located here: http://www.numinix.com/fedex-automat...s-for-zen-cart) the mod will not support the new API.

I'm wondering if anyone has a solution to print labels easily with the new API. I'm sooo shocked there are no threads regarding this!!

Shiprush is the fedex sponsored solution - has been available for some time now. Shiprush is free and works with a variety of shipping tho I'm not sure about all of them at the same time. And it's free!

As was previously stated, this is not the automated shipping labels mod. This is direct integration of FedEx's ship manager desktop solution with your zen-cart database. Web-services are not used and the upcoming changes will NOT affect this integration method.

I have a quick question. With the FedEx Ship Manager, you have the option to hold labels for later printing. I am unsure if they are held on the FedEx site or on "my" computer. I would be happy if someone else logging into the same account on a different computer could retrieve the labels from fedex.
We've never done the hold for printing option so I'm not really sure how that would work. Sorry! Best of luck to you.

Isn't the ODBC connection exclusively to local files on your PC?
The tables described are on a linux server.
I'm missing the part about how you get the server mysql data to be available to ship manager.

No, ODBC is a standard way that databases can connect to one another whether they be on your machine or in the cloud. By installing the ODBC connector you're asked to install in step one, you are essentially creating a local data source which is linked to your zencart database. You'll need to configure the settings in the ODBC manager in administrative tools in the control panel, then it will show up as a data source for Ship Manager.

red flag Re: FedEx Ship manager integration

I'm to the stage where I'm mapping the zen_orders info to the FedEx shipping fields in ShipManager Integration assistant.
I'm wanting to map Zen's Total Order weight, but the only table that the assistant can read is zen_orders, any other table results in an error when selected. The error is "unable to retrieve field attributes"

zen_orders_total apparently contains the total weight
How do I make the zen_orders_total table accessible?

    UPDATE:

I examined the mysql table directly and total weight is not in zen_orders_total. I'm still searching to determine where it is stored, if it is stored at all.

Our store sells things in standard box sizes so we don't use total weight. Individual product weight is used since everything is shipped separately. Good luck finding order-total-weight.
