do i have to execute sql to active quantity discount module?

i'm using zen cart zen-cart-v138a-utf8 and have downloaded the quantity discount module and upload all the files to roon/includes(this should be the right path?). then i installed the module. but when i set the discounts and tested them on my site the discounts never working. someone told me i should execute the sql but i really had no idea what that is.
does anyone know anything about this?

There's no SQL beyond what happens automatically when you go to admin->modules->order total and do install on Quantity Discounts.

You know you don't see the discount until page 2 of checkout, right?
