Default Moving to new server- prefix question

    Hi All,

I have a quick (and hopefully easy) question. I am in the process of moving my site to a new server.

The instructions suggest that when installing the software, that I should add the OLD prefix when prompted to add the Store Identifier (table-prefix).

However, my NEW host currently automatically adds a prefix when I created a new database.

    So NEW host:
    dbname: xyz_name
    pass: xyz_pass
    user:xyz_user

    And OLD host:
    dbname: abc_name
    and so forth...

So my question is, if I add the OLD prefix abc_ during the installation process, when I already have one, will that cause issues when trying to import my db to the new site?

    Thanks so much!

I believe you are mixing up the term "prefix"

It normally refers to a table prefix as in

    address or zen_address

What you are referencing is the DB name
