Need to set default shipping method to FedExGround

We have a cart used primarily by company owned locations. We can (and do) ship to them by FedEx, UPS, & USPS. The corporate parent insists that the store MUST default upon checkout to FedEx Ground as the shipping method. They don't mind if the customer changes the shipping method, but when a customer first goes to checkout, they MUST see all shipping options with FedExGround pre-selected.

I've got the shipping modules all installed, working, and displaying rates, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to insure that FedExGround is checked as the default method.

Surely there's a way to do this...

Give the methods a sort order and FEDX ground will be first in the display

Two issues with that:

1. Fedex Trademark police are adamant that Express must appear in shipping options before Ground.

2. Appearing first in the list won't change whether the radio button is selected or not.

The solution I'm seeking would have FedexGround selected as the shipping method when the customer enters checkout.

I am afraid set sort order won't help. Shipping modules works like this: it always select the cheapeast option.

Therefore, you can use a small code to force fedexground to be selected.

Let me think where the code is...hmm...maybe in mdoules/pages/checkout_shipping/header.php

if customer has not selected a shipping method, you can define it as fedexground.
