Lost Menu Bar in Admin Mode

Hi I am running Zen Cart v1.3.8a/v1.3.8

I have just logged into my admin section and have an error code showing at the bottom of the browser window - that is Error on Page. When I click this I get the following message showing

I cannot see the menu bar for admin - eg the configuration / products etc etc. HELP

I have the same on 1.3.9h which happenned last night out of the blue. Whilst changing "main page" text, then saved and the page reloaded with no menu.

Did you manage to sort this ?

Anyone know what causes this ? I would appreciate your help, as I cannot edit anything without the menu's etc at the top.
