i do not want to show the total weight in the shopping cart? how can i disable it.I have follow the turtorial to change it from 3 to 0 but it does not work. attemping from the php file itself also failed.

Admin - Configfuration - Layout Settings - Shopping Cart - Show Totals to 3 should work.
It looks like you've messed up shopping_cart.php, as this shows in your cart: TEXT_TOTAL_WEIGHTLast edited by stevesh; 11 Aug 2010 at 04:09 PM.
