How is the Costs field populated?

I am using Zen Cart 1.3.9e and QBI 3.80, and when I download the .iif files from QBI I notice a field called "COSTS" that is always zero; I believe it is the cost for the merchant to obtain the item, but I notice no way from within Zen Cart to edit this field.

What element of the relevant MySQL tables (I believe for the product information) corresponds to COSTS and how can I enter that from within Zen Cart?

The stock Zencart doesn't include a field for product cost.

There's a mod here that adds it:

but whether or not it will transfer the cost info to QBI is anybody's guess.
