Gap above Catagory icon

Hi, I have an annoying white space above my catagory icon which looks like it has something to do with the center box. The strange thing is that it does not show in ie7, which is displaying as I think it should. The problem is seen in ie8 and firefox.

Also i would like to know where and how I can change the category icon link colour and also get the link in the middle horizontally and vertically.

Viewing in FireFox I see no unusual white space

looks completely fine to me. in firefox

Firefox 3 6 8 and Ie8 showing white gap above peach colourd block have asked 2 others to check it on their computers as well and they are also seeing the space

I have screen grabbed it and put it on a page here

OK The latest. I have been playing with the style sheet and it now ok in firefox and ie8. The problem now is with ie7 the blue text in the peach bar is half outside the box. Can you view in ie7 this page

Finally sorted. It was the form part of the style sheet, I had to change it to inline-block insted of just inline. Now looks like this

display: inline-block;
font-size: 1em;
margin: 0.1em;
}
