Default Very Strange problem with order/account

    Hi,

I got an order last night with what appears to be some major problems. It's not easy to explain but I'll try -

This order is from an existing customer, they've had the account for several years and placed several orders without any problem.

On the orders.php screen that lists all orders, this customers name does not contain a link, it's just plain text. All other customer names in the order listing have links.

When I view the order detail, customer info and billing address are blank, shipping address is filled in correctly.

When I search for the customers name in customers.php, the customers name comes up without a problem. However, there's no button on the right to view their orders even though they've placed many orders.

When I then click the edit button view their details, all fields are blank.

I then checked the customers account in phpmyadmin. In customer table, address book table, and customer info table, all of the customers details are visible and correct, and the cross references to these tables match up correctly.

Customer used Paypal Express Checkout to pay for the order.

I have over 35,000 orders and 10,000 customers and have never seen anything like this before.

The only thing that seems even remotely possible is that the customer checked out directly with Express Checkout without signing in, Express tried to create a new account but failed due to duplicate email address, then completed the order with the information that it had.

However, that would not explain why the customer details do not display in customers.php.

Additional searching through the customer database shows only 1 customer with that name and email address.

I'm currently running 1.39d and have had several hundred orders since that update without any issues.

Any suggestions or ideas about what might be going on here?

    Many thanks,

    Ed

One other thing I noticed. If I try to update the blank customer info fields in the customer detail (by clicking the edit button when the customer is listed in customers.php), I am unable to save the changes, I get an error that the customer's email already exists.

From the first message, you can ignore this:

On the orders.php screen that lists all orders, this customers name does not contain a link, it's just plain text. All other customer names in the order listing have links.

Just in case this isn't strange enough, when I log in as the customer (through the front end, not through admin), everything looks ok - customers details are there, address book is correct, and account details show all the orders including the order in question.

Have you hacked out any countries from your database?
Is that country assigned to that customer?

    Hi DrByte,

That's amazing, I don't know how you do it, but you figured it out.

    Here's what happened -

This is an old customer from my OSC days. They were signed up as residing in Country 74 - "France, Metropolitan". But in Zen Cart, there is no Country 74, the table goes from 73 to 75, so they became homeless when I moved them to Zen.

Also, they had 2 addresses in their address book, one showed
"France, 74" as the last line of the address, the other showed
"France, France". (they had put France as their state also which made it look like their country was correct in both entries)

Since there was no Primary Address in OSC, when porting over I assigned the first address in each customer's address book as their primary address, so the one with 74 became their primary address.

Now that I've changed them to 73 (France), all is well. I can edit their account again, and the customers.php listing shows all the right buttons when this customer is highlighted.

Many thanks for your assistance and your uncanny ability to solve a strange problem like this.
