    Default eWay module error.

    Hi,

Zencart is ver 1.3.7 and have been using Paypal IPN fine.

Created and eWay account and installed eWay module. Tested fine with a test transaction. However, when I tried to put in a live transaction, below is the error:

Payment was declined for the following reason:
    Error Code:-1072896760

Has anyone seen this or advise on how to troubleshoot?

Did a google on "xml error 1072896760" and there are some mention about invalid characters in the xml.

I have also tried with/without CVN, with/without Beagle. All different live options did not work.

Any advice or assistance is much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Kenny

    Hi all,

    Found the issue.

After reading some other threads, I suspected its got to do with some invalid characters in the XML being passed to eWay. Did some test and found items with "funny" chars in the titles do not work. Changed titles and live checkout is working now.

    Great payment module. Thanks.

We had the exact same problem with the eway payment module and found this thread via Google.

Turns our offending product simply had a dash in the name. That was enough to cause the error.

Actually.. it may not've been the dash afterall. We have one other product that has a dash in the title and its never caused an error.

I think our problem was from copying and pasting the product title text from the manufacturers website. We had one product generating the error, and there was some white space in the title, right after the name. We removed the white space and are waiting on the customer to see if they can complete checkout.
