Simple question perhaps?

Guys,pringle here basically a simple question here,,say i download an addon and its php file etc,how can i open these?

My computer can't seem to open them.......do i need a progamme to read them/open them???

The files are likely zipped, so you'll need a program like WinZip to unzip the contents.

XP Pro should have extraction built in. Right-click the file and see if extract is not one of the choices. If not, any free extraction program will be fine.
