Featured Products Layout

Hi Friends,

I am a new zenner I want to show my featured products on my home page as well as with products listing. Both have different layouts. I am facing a problem to do that. It has common file so that if i do some change in the file, it applies to both sides equally. How can i change the layout of home page from products listing. I have another question. I want to use jcarousal plugin of jquery on home page to show featured products and i have zencart v1.3.9d. Its not allowing me to use that plugin. Please help me to find my issues.
