upgrading php on server

I have a hosting account with multiple domains on it, currently running php 4.x. I would like to change this to run php 5.x by default (which the host will let me do) - but will this change anything in the zencart installations that I currently have hosting in this account? Will I need to do an update or change any settings?

I have 3 carts setup - all running zen 1.3.8+

Ok, so upgrade to 1.3.9f and then I can upgrade the php with no ill effects? hopefully??

php 5.2.2 was not stable lat time I checked - - but the php team is working on it

well I just need php5.1 for another application, but I should check into exactly what version of php my host would run (it vaguely says 5.x, probably giving them room to upgrade at any time)
