Payment Received Without Order

This has been happening to me for months and I actually came on here to find a solution. I finally worked out what is causing it tonight and its mobile phone orders, when someone places an order with their iphone and uses paypal as the payment option the payment comes through but not the order. Other than installing the express checkout is there anyone who has a fix for this?

There are lots of troubleshooting steps one can take.
But without knowing your current version of Zen Cart, your PHP/MySQL version, a list of all your addons and customizations, etc, everything's just a guess.

PHP 5.2.14
addons - honestly no idea there are a lot though I know I do have attributes with stock, edit orders and super orders. Also aus post, aus bank and layby I would have to check with my web designer but alas he is on holidays at the moment
Hosting is with hostgator
I couldn't pinpoint when it started happening I honestly thought it was my customers not completing checkout properly. I did try installing paypal express but ended up with order total error emails from paypal so uninstalled it and was waiting for my designer to come back from holidays to sort it out

Haven't had any problems since switching modules, although I hadn't had any problems with the Web Payments Standard module in the almost two years I had been using it.

On a plus side, if you are using PayPal to accept Credit Cards, the form provided by PayPal for Express Checkout is much less confusing. Instead of being redirected to the PayPal login page where there is a tiny link for people who want to pay with a card but don't want to sign up for PayPal, they are directed to a form where you have the direct option of entering payment details there or logging in to PayPal.
