MySQL Database problem

I can't work out on installation where to put zen-cart as can't at the moment get my head round MySQL database. i've had a quick read on the subject, but can't work it out

my site is twilightwomen.co.uk can't work out if it needs to be installed in htdocs or cgi-bin, i'm hosting on streamline and has everything I need but a simple thing of where to put cart with regards to MySQL

You would put the files in the main Zen Cart folder into the htdocs folder if you want your store to be hosted at the top level of your web account (most people do).

This is unrelated to your database though, which Streamline will host somewhere else. Your control panel should include tools for creating the empty database which Zen Cart will fill up. If you're not sure where these tools are or how to use them, consult Streamline's documentation or their helpline, as they may be specific to their service (which I haven't used).

Don't worry about how the files find the database - most times going through the Zen Cart installation and answering the questions is enough for Zen Cart to sort that out for itself.

thanks for the advice, been over 5 years since doing anything like this. getting to understand whats what,

uploaded, read docs, changed configs and permissions as stated. but from the - Hello. Thank you for loading Zen Cart - when i run zen_install/index.php i get 500 internal server error,

for which after reading articles i've contact my server to find out if they security setting causing the problems.

once again thanks hopefully i'll have it sussed soon
