Default Editing Meta Titles, Descriptions and URLs

    Hi
At present we can edit meta titles, descriptions and change URL's on some pages but not on all pages, is it possible to have our admin so we can edit all pages in this way?

    Thanks

I'm having trouble guessing which "pages" you're talking about. Lots more detail would be appreciated.

The rewrite rules you're paying your designer to write are probably something they can teach you how to do in 5-10 minutes, if that. I suggest you ask them whether they'll let you do that. The system already builds H1 tags automatically on each page, so I'm not sure why you're paying them for that.

The pages you mentioned in your PM are just rewritten URLs pointing to existing internal Zen Cart pages. You can write your own custom metatags for the products_all, products_new, featured_products, and specials pages by hand-editing your /includes/languages/english/custom2/meta_tags.php file.

We dont normally pay for this to be done, its just our guy is very busy at the moment, the reason for asking was because
at present our brand pages are set up "Idiot Proof" so it is literally a case of changing the bit we want to change, what I want to know is if the rest of the site can be set up like this, if that makes sense?
    Many Thanks

Your Zen Cart admin area presently lets you specify category-specific metatags, and product-specific metatags.
Other pages metatags are generally built from the list of category names on your site, along with descriptions gleaned from related content. If you've added some custom site-wide content to be added to your metatags via the file I mentioned earlier, that information will be added to them too.

Thus, you can control almost all the content simply by editing your category names, descriptions, and custom metatags, as well as your product names, descriptions, and custom metatags.

Anything else you want to customize metatags for can be handled by writing specific bespoke additional entries in the file I mentioned. That involves using FTP and a text-file editor.

You can write custom metatags for the advanced_search_results page if you like. But they won't be based on the search criteria. What you define will be shown on all search results, independent of the actual search done.
If you want to change that, you'll need to get into writing bespoke code for your unique needs.
