Shipping help please?

Hello,
I'm using 1.3.9b

Here is what I need to set up.
I want to ship to the US and Canada ONLY.

All US shipping free
All Canada shipping $3.00

I have the free Shipping module installed and it works great for US orders but tried the Flat Rate module and cannot get it to work. Can soneone please tell me the "start to finish" settings for this?

Which Free Shipping module are you using for the US?

Are you using Zone Definitions on your shipping modules? If so, are you sure that you have the Details setup correctly for you Zone Definition for Canada?

NOTE: the current version of Zen Cart is v1.3.9f ... you may wish to consider upgrading ...

Hi and thacks for the reply.
At the moment i am using the free shipping module with all products set to "yes,always free shipping".
I'm not sure what to do from here. I only want to ship to the US and Canada.

Is there any way you could walk me through this please?

Always Free Shipping is designed for "everyone" to have Free Shipping on a product and uses the FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper shipping module ...

This is a special shipping module where the Zone is really intended for developers and not for regular use as it will not work as a normal Zone Restriction without additional custom coding ...

You indicate that you are using the:
Always Free Shipping YES

on your products ... is this just to show the icon? Or, do some of your products not have free shipping?

Yes, at the moment i am using the freshipper module and have all products set to always free shipping because all products ship free to the US.
I was only shipping to the US but I now want to also ship to canada at cost of $3.00 for all items shipped to canada but keep shipping to the US free. But i cannot figure out how to set this up.

You can make this work by creating a Zone Definition for:
Canada Shipping
US Shipping

Make sure you build both with their proper Zone Definition details ...

Add the US Shipping zone definition to the FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper ...

Add the Canada Shipping zone definition to the Flat Rate flat shipping module ...

Edit the shipping module:
/includes/modules/shipping/flat.php

and change the code to include the comment marks in red:

      // disable only when entire cart is free shipping
//      if (zen_get_shipping_enabled($this->code)) {
        $this->enabled = ((MODULE_SHIPPING_FLAT_STATUS == 'True') ? true : false);
//      }

ok, i went to Zone Definitions and created the following:

zone name= Canada Shipping
zone description= Canada Shipping

zone name=US Shipping
zone description= US Shipping
and set the "details" for both of the above to "All Zones"
is this correct?

As long as you picked:
Country: Canada

for the Canada shipping definition details ...

and you picked:
Country: United States

for US Shipping definition details ...

then that would be correct ...

One more question. I have another site with zen cart that sells heavier items. could the same be done to ship to canada maybe using the table rate module instead of the flat rate for canada?

You would see similar code to comment out to make Table Rate table show even when Products are marked as Always Free Shipping ...

You would need to test it to see if further code adjustments are needed or not ...
