Checkout without Paypal account

I upgraded my account from Personal to Premier in order to obtain the codes required to accept payments. I followed the described steps and successfully configured PaypalExpress checkout. I haven't tested it thought as Paypal doesn't agree to the recommended idea of buying and then refund. Anyway, I have the following questions, some of which I just want to ask outside Paypal from people's experiences:

1) I saw in the articles that with PaypalExpress checkout, people who don't have Paypal account can pay me by providing their card details and they will never know that this goes through Paypal. I haven't seen that anywhere. When I checkout with Paypal, it only shows me option to login to Paypal or create account. (I have Premier now, is it supported?). Maybe I did something wrong?

2) Generally speaking, are there any drawbacks of Premier or Business accounts compared to the Personal? (I've read all the horror stories already and I am aware)

3) If I get paid via Paypal from a user without Paypal account (credit card) do I lose more money on fees? (from Paypal)

With Paypal express your customers will be sent to the Paypal website to complete the payment. They will be given three options. Create a PP account and pay, use an existing PP acount to pay, or pay without creating an account. None of the credit card info is entered on your site. If you want the customer to provide credit card info on your website so the processing is transparent then you need to get a merchant account and gateway.

I am not aware of any drawbacks to the business account.

The fees charged are the same.

In Paypal checkout I only see:
1) Pay with my PayPal account
2) Create a Paypal account

Nothing else

Maybe I need to do something else except from configuring Paypal checkout module?

OR

Maybe Paypal Premium doesn't support this and I need Business?

If you want them to have the option to pay without creating a PayPal account, you'll have to turn on PayPal Account Optional in your PayPal account's profile settings under Website Payment Preferences.

Thanks for the help however, in Website Payment Preferences I don't have PayPal™ Account Optional. I have all the rest. In PP documents it says that it is available for premium as well.

Also, I use only PP Express checkout and the options for return URL and PDT with token are only available for IPN which cannot be used if you use express.

I recommend contacting your PayPal support rep to see if you can be given that option in your country.

Correct. You don't need to set up the PDT option. You *should* still configure the IPN facility within your PayPal account if you want your store to be notified of changes to transactions, including refunds, etc.

I am running into the same problem. I created a PP account today and the option "PayPal Account Optional" is NOT available within the "Website Payment Preferences" in my Profile.

Maybe they moved it? I am still trying to find it...

As I am testing my PayPal checkout, I am redirected to the PayPal site that offers me to either login to my account, or create a PayPal account.

I know a lot a people (like me for instance) who would cancel a sale because of this-having-to-create-an-account drawback.
