Default Canadian orders being rejected since setting up Flat Rate Canada

Our shop ships only to US and Canada. We currently have Four shipping modules installed: flat rate, flat rate Canada (clone of flat rate), Free Shipping and UPS. flat rate Canada was added just before our problems started showing up...

We use Authorize.net (AIM) to process orders.

Since adding Flat Rate Canada, Canadian customers can no longer checkout of our shop. It gives them an authorization error and they can't check out.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on this??? My client is about to FIRE me!!!

Check the Zone Definition you are using on your Flat Rate Canada clone ...

Make sure the details are setup for:
    Country: Canada
    Zones: All

Yes, Canada is set up for all zones.

I have three zones set up: United States, Canada and US + Canada. It is set to have Free Shipping if the total sale is over $75 for zone US + Canada. If the total is under $75, it will either be covered under Flat Rate (US Only), or Flat Rate (Canada only).

Is the Authorization error coming from AuthorizeNet or do you see it before you even try to get authorization from AuthorizeNet ...

What is the exact error that you are getting ...

    Has this ever worked?

What has changed since it last worked?

What version Zen Cart are you using?

    Hi Linda!
When the customer clicks CONFIRM THE ORDER, they get this error message:
This transaction cannot be accepted. - Your credit card could not be authorized for this reason. Please correct the information and try again or contact us for further assistance.

Canadian orders worked before I added the cloned Flat Rate shipping for Canada.

The only thing changed since it last worked was the addition of the shipping module. No other mods to the cart.

We are using 1.3.8a Patch 1.

Thanks again Linda for your help on this!
    Rick

If you remove the new shipping module ... does the Payment module work?

I turned off Flat Rate Canada and changed Flat Rate to accept both US and Canada. But, I still get this error:

(TESTMODE) This transaction cannot be accepted. - Your credit card could not be authorized for this reason. Please correct the information and try again or contact us for further assistance.

I had to turn Authorize.net to test mode...

    Linda,
I may have found something from the Authorize.net site that explains my problems...

Since the merchant’s default Address Verification Service (AVS) settings may cause foreign transactions to be declined, merchants who plan to regularly accept international transactions should make sure that their AVS settings are configured to not reject transactions from a non-U.S. card issuing bank.

Maybe the few Canadian orders that got thru prior just happened to be US based banks, not Canadian banks.

What do you think? Have you seen something like this before?

    Thanks!

If you turn on debug logging in your payment module, it will capture the conversation between your store and the gateway, and explain the causes of the failure.
