Change template name easily?

Now that my development site is almost complete, I'd like to change the name of the template I am using (not a template switch). Bad timing, yes!

Is there an easy way to change this and have it automatically apply to all folders named with that template and to all links referencing the template folder? I have numerous template folders for override files.

No easy way - every instance of template name ABCDEFG will need to be changed manually to your new template name.

Just out of curiosity: why do you want to change the name of the template ? This name is only an identifier of a set of folders etc and is not visible to your customers.

I think it is a Wordpress thing. With all of these updates I am trying to protect my customization from the upgrade.
