First and foremost, I would like to thank all the posters on this forum for what they have taught this lurker. With the "e-start Your Web Store" manual and many, many hours of reading here on the forum, I now have a pretty good handle on how Zen Cart works and my skill at customizing my site is improving by leaps and bounds.
After going through the process of setting up a complete set of override templates, the one thing that made me crazy was trying to change the overall color of my stylesheets from that used in "Classic Contemporary Green". I had a tendency to think of the difficult but this change is one of the simplest things you can do to your sheets because it is a simple little 11X30X8 gif file, tile_back.gif!
It is located in ZENCART/includes/templates/NAME/images and tiles a color background for all the header boxes. OMG! I have spent a considerable amount of time looking for the hex code that would make the changes but it is not to be found. I finally figured it must be an image file and it took me two seconds to find it and another couple of seconds to overwrite it with a file containing the color I wanted to use.
I know this is extremely basic stuff for those that know what they are doing but for one just starting on zcart, php, and css it was the needle in the haystack. No matter my search string, I could not find the info on the forum so hopefully this post corrects that issue.
