Default Re: Changing directories. Can't edit configure.php

That makes sense! I actually set it to write but only on the "owner" part. Do I need to change it to "777" for both lines as the initial setup requires?

Also, what would you suggest I use? I only have dreamweaver installed? Are there any good programs for Macs?

Also will this take my splash page and cart over together? Because for some reason I was able to see the splash page fine but I just couldn't access admin.

    Thanks you guys!

I dont own a mac, but I use crimson editor only and doing a quick search on google this was the first link
    http://hintsforums.macworld.com/showthread.php?t=92332

    and the google search

I would recommend any file that you edit until you are sure the editor is not messing with the files is to make two copy of the files and dont touch one of them.

As for permissions set it to 777 and immediately after loading set back to 444

There are lots of good FTP programs out there for Mac. FileZilla is free.

It worked! Thank you all. I just needed to change the permissions, like you all said. I will also look into filezilla. I appreciate the help, thanks for such speedy replies!
