I didnt see anything in the add ons, but a quick question prior to go about this.
I have 6 languages on my site. I want every product to have the same exact info with the client having the ability to put in the values next to the name.
Will this show up in the description as code or in a usable format that looks like the attached image?
Will I be able to do this easily with boilerplating or should I just have them use table I have and just have them copy and past into each language?
Thanks
That doesn't exactly fall under the boilerplate scope, as each product could have different information in each field. With six languages involved, you may be best off having a base version of that table for each language (or did you mean you want the table to be identical for all languages?) and letting the client fill in the table blanks in the product description for each language.
Making separate data fields that can be filled in for each language would be a LOT of work... though who knows, it might be less work in the long run than adding the boilerplate table to each description and filling in the blanks.
Scope is only for new products being entered. I would deal with the preexisting.
Ideal: Same table, same info but each of the languages would be in their respective languages and the values would be the only thing the client would change and in the case of Arabic be read right to left.
Less ideal but ok would be all in the descriptions in english but have the client have the ability to change the values easily.
If its way too much work:
Meh, Ill just make out the tables in each language and load a free html editor on their computer. A guy could dream right![]()
I am not sure how much work you are welling to do, but the short description module can be used for such thing. You just has to duplicate it for as many options you want. It use the description table and works just like product description.
